Liminal Women
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
Liminal Women Anthology is currently CLOSED for submissions. We are reading and reviewing submissions and hope to reply to all submissions by the end of August! We are very sorry for the delayed responses. We are just a few independent poets and life has gotten in the way a bit. The project is still in progress and we are still printing the anthology.
Liminal Women is creating an anthology of writing and art that celebrates women’s truth and testifies to women’s strength and resilience, identity, and magic. Proceeds from the sale of the anthology will be donated to Magdalene St. Louis. A residential community for women who have survived lives of sexual exploitation, violence and addiction. Women receive up to two years of housing, healthcare, and a compassionate community of sisterhood and support.. You can learn more about Magdalene St. Louis here www.magdalenestl.org.
This is a passion project and is fully self-funded. We are seeking grants and other funding to cover printing costs. At this time all expenses are coming out of the pockets of three passionate poets.
We invite submissions of poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction (essays, memoirs, biography, literary journalism, social or cultural commentary or analysis), and visual art. We publish only original, previously unpublished work. Self-publication and work that appears online are considered to have been published.
We will accept submissions from Oct. 15-January 1. We will generally provide a response within six weeks. We look forward to reading your work.
We do not charge a "reading fee" but there is a Submittable transmission. This fee only partially covers our cost to use Submittable. We are offering a limited number of “scholarship” submissions as we do not want the cost of submitting to be prohibitive to anyone. This is an honor system. Please if at all possible submit using the minimum amount and if you feel generous and want to help fund our passion project choose another level of giving.
We look forward to reading your work.
